Harbor Life Kids provides a caring, nurturing, and secure place where children are divided into age-appropriate rooms. Each room has loving, caring leaders who desire to minister to each child’s spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. We gather to explore His story and invite our children to enter in. In babies, through the care of committed volunteers, as well as worship and story time, our goal is simple: that your child will begin to learn and understand how much God loves them. These early encounters allow each child know that they are valued by the One who created them and helps to build a foundation for a relationship with God.
Our preschoolers use crafts, activities, and songs to experience their “First Look” at God and to know Him as Father and Friend. They take part in a large-group time that includes a Bible story and worship with instruments. We use the “My First Look” curriculum which is based on Psalm 119:18, “Open my eyes so that I can see the wonderful truths.” The program is designed to give children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father so they will know three main truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Each week at Harbor Life Kids children explore a different ‘Big Picture Question’ to learn how much God loves and delights in them. The timeless truths of God’s Word are communicated during an engaging large group worship and teaching session to further emphasize the weekly theme. A small group leader then helps the group unpack what they have just learned in large group teaching and apply it to their own lives. Children spend time in two main areas.
- A large group time for the Bible Lesson, worship, and prayer time. Large Group is designed to engage children in worship within a large group setting. Music, prayer, and an innovative approach to teaching the Bible story are always a part of this interactive time.
- A small group time with leaders who genuinely care about them and want to help them deepen their relationship with Christ. Small group is designed to help children understand how the day’s Bible lesson applies to their daily life. They discuss real life experiences and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles.
